Typically, blogging or fashion blogging is a piece of content/contents or opinion/opinions which is/are recorded online in order to make them accessible for anyone.
A fashion blog can cover many things such as Clothing and Apparel, Beauty and Cosmetics, Accessories, Grooming Tips, Celebrity and Fashion Trends, lifestyle etc.
As fashion has huge categories and it’s a multi-billion dollar industry.
some bloggers write blogs to promote products as affiliate marketer, whereas some industries have started writing blogs to promote their own products, and some bloggers write blogs on fashion and grooming advice.
The term “blog”, which refers to an online journal, which is available and accessible for anyone.
Blogging or fashion blogging can be started with the help of some mediums like website, social media, etc.
The Myth About Blogging
When it comes to blogging most people consider a website where they can write some piece of content.
But blogging is not about owning a website and writing content there. It’s all about providing valuable and useful stuff which can help the reader to make valuable decisions.
To start a blog you can own a website or you can use other platforms like social media it’s your choice.
Your motive should be providing useful and valuable stuff behind blogging in order to make it successful.

Its not necessary that you must have a website in order to start blog, you can use other platforms also.
But your motive must be providing the awesome and unique content.

How To Start Fashion Blog on Instagram?
On Instagram you can post photos and videos only.
You can’t write in-depth content. Although if you wish to write some, then you can write it in the caption.
But do you know? A Image Worths Thousand Words.!
So I don’t think you need to write in depth content.
You may get succeed just by posting attractive and unique images and videos.
But only posting images and videos and doing nothing may take years to grow your account.
As you will start fashion blogs on Instagram. You will need followers and audiences for your account who can engage with your content.
To grow your Instagram account faster and get more reach you will need to follow my two steps guide.
- SEO ( For Organic Reach)
- Advertisement (For Inorganic Reach this is optional)
Let’s talk about them one by one.
#1-SEO
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
With the help of SEO, you will optimize your blog posts for the search engine that is Instagram.
Tell me this, can you communicate and express your thoughts and feelings to others without speaking?
Yes but only a few of them.
So, if you will not optimize your content according to Instagram algorithms (the language which Instagram understands), how will the instagram know you have a fashion blog account?
If your content will be well optimized for SEO you will get tones of organic visitors on it.
Do you know the best thing about organic reach? It’s free.
Well, you are going to start fashion blog on instagram.
And fashion niche has high competition.
Your competitors are sitting out there with a huge following and deadly organic reach.
And you will have to compete with them to grow your account.
For it, you will need to think out of the box and you will need to use proper SEO strategies which 90% of your competition is not doing.
So, how to optimize your content for SEO?
Here is how-
Keywords or Hashtags(#)
Do you know? Before writing this article, I researched a lot about hashtags and I found them The Game Changer.
If you seriously want to grow your Instagram account. You have to use proper hashtags.
If you search for the fashion and click on the tags. You will get about 50 hashtags ideas with millions of posts.
You can use these #tags for the posts which you upload.
Here is an example-
Why Hastags are Important?
As you will search for anything on Instagram, Instagram shows you these 4 results-
- Top
- Accounts
- Tags
- Places
If you click on “Tags”. You get tones of Tags ideas
Now if you click on any of these tags you get two more things-
- Top
- Recent
At the top you will get the top results, which was uploaded on Instagram.
Top results are those results which got maximum number of likes and comments in less time for particular hashtags.
And recent results are those posts which was uploaded recently on instagram.
Recent posts don’t need maximum number of likes and comments to stay top.
Even with zero likes and zero comments any post can achieve top position in recent result.
But, Do you know? Every single second there are 700-1000 posts are being uploaded on Instagram.
So, If any post will get top positions in recent results it will be for fraction of seconds. And suddenly it may go at 50th or more lower position.
But the good news is that, it’s enough to rank for only one second at top. Why?
Because there are almost 500+ Million active users on instagram. And 1% of them that is 5 Million are probably searching for your hashtags.
That is why using proper hastags are so important to drive organic visitors to your content.
Later on after some time and with some practice you also can rank for the top results.
Where your post can be at the top for hours maybe.
As instagram calculates the top results according to number of likes in less time for any post.
How to Find Hashtags For Your Posts?
Instead of recommending any paid tools, I’ll tell you the free ways-
Fist step, search for anything like “Fashion or Fashion Blog” on instagram and head over the tags section. You will get tones of popular hashtags just note all of them in a spread sheet.
The second step, search for your competitor and look into their posts what hashtags they are using. Just copy all of them and put them into your spread sheet.
Collect at least 150 hastags with this free formula.
Now it’s time to filter out hashtags.
Note, in one post you can use 30 Hashtags only.
Now upload 5 posts and use 30 hashtags for each. That is 30*5=150.
As you have collected 150 hastags separate them into the groups of 30 each and upload 5 posts from your account by using these hashtags.
And repeat this process for at least one week.
Also, try out a different combination of hashtags.
Now track the insights which hashtags are driving more engagement for your posts. You will found 40-50 hashtags that have driven more engagement for your post.
Mark them as the diamond hashtags. And use them for every single post which you upload.
#2-Advertisement (For Inorganic Reach this is optional)
You can use advertisements if you have a budget.
But this is an optional method which you can skip, because I know 90% of my readers may not have money to spend on advertisement.
But if you have some money you can follow these things which I am going to share with you to get a spike of visitors and followers for your account.
Run Instagram Ads-
you can run instagram ads to promote your blog or account.
You can send traffic to your page according to your wish, you
want 10000 people to visit your page then you can do It with the help of
Instagram ADS. You can run ADS of your page on Instagram itself or on other platforms
like facebook etc, and you can gain traffic from it
If you will get the traffic to your
page definitely you will get new followers, but this technique cost you but
instagram ADS have minimal charges so here is the good news for you.
If you have
1$ then you can run ads very easily and gain traffic.
Influencer Shout-outs
This strategy is not free, you have to pay for these shout-
outs. This is where your market research steps in, you know which influencers you
have in your niche and which one might give you the best results(look at their
growth and engagement).
SFS (Shout-out for Shout-out)
This strategy is similar to the one above but the
difference is that you don’t have to pay for it and instead of looking for
influencers in your niche, you will look for competitors and you will shout each
other out.
Engagement Groups
This strategy will not give you followers directly but it will
increase your engagement on your posts which makes Instagram show your posts to
more people and therefore increase your chances of getting more followers.
Connect with competitors and influencers in your niche and try to create or
integrate into engagement groups ( do this only with people in your niche).
Giveaways
This is one of my best techniques but this technique may cost you.
You can giveaway your audience some prize money or something and you can
demand them to complete some target if your given target completes you can give them real prize money.
Page-Layout Of Your Instagram Fashion Blog
The page layout of your account is very important because ultimately results in
more followers (better conversion).
The market research helps with this part since
you know how other accounts in your niche do it.
LOGO, use a logo that is related to your niche you can go to designevo
or canva to create logo. Logo is very important for your account to
look professional.
Name, Your name should be related to your niche and it should be simple
and unique easy to understand by reading your account name user should
get clear idea that your account is about that specific niche.
Bio, bio is very important for your account you can use this structure for
the bio of your account. Who you are? What do you do? Why should they
follow you? Try to use emojis as each bullet point.
Monetizing Your Instagram Fashion Blog
Obviously, if you want to build an Instagram page you should be thinking about
monetizating it, otherwise what is the point in growing big following?
You have manys ways to make money with your Instagram account, I will present you some of them.
But keep in mind that there are a lot more. Here is how you start earning?
- Sell an E-Book or Course, think about valuable skill you have and teach it to
others.
2. IG Shout-Outs and brand deals, this is a quick and easy way to make some cash.
Its not gonna make you rich, but it can easily earn you $500 dollars a month once
you have acquired a bigger following(50K+).
3. Affiliate Marketing, you can earn direct commission using affiliate marketing by
promoting products among your audience.
If any of your audience purchase any
of your products which you promoted, you will get commission of that product.
You can start doing affiliate marketing from Click Bank, Amazon, etc.
4. Dropshipping, you can make money by ordering products from sites like Alibaba,
AliExpress and you can sell them to your audience in profitable margin.
I have
seen many of people who earns using affiliate marketing use dropshipping if they
don’t have their own product and they earn good commission.
Instagram Marketing Agency, you build your account to as many followers as
possible and you use it as a social proof for growing other people’s accounts.
Start
by talking with other accounts through the dm’s and remember to start small and
scale it slowly.
You can run multiple types of service such as, account
management, market research and hashtag research etc.

you to use it on your account so you can track your audience insights. You can
also track your insights from the Instagram also, Instagram provides you the option to track
insights.
3. Instagram Creator Studio, this is tool that Instagram launched and its totally free and
with it you can track your account insights and also schedule your posts.
4. Canva, one of my fav tools canva is amazing in creating graphics, social media
posts, stories, cover pages etc. you must use this tool. It’s amazing.
5. InShot, if you want to upload videos on your account InShot is best tool for you
and if you want to upload longer videos on instagram use IGTV.
